Disable calls and notifications while playing games on iPhone

Apple’s iPhone is a powerful smartphone and it offers an excellent gaming experience. But the device doesn’t offer an inbuilt Gaming Mode that disables distractions while playing game. This can be a crucial feature for serious gamers and most of the android smartphone manufacturers are currently providing this feature for the premium smartphones as well as for the mid-range smartphones.

Disable calls and notifications on iPhone

Though Apple doesn’t provide an inbuilt gaming mode, still you can create a game mode like feature and enhance your gaming experience on iPhone by simply following the instructions in this guide.

How to disable calls and notifications during playing games on iPhone?
To achieve this feature, we’ll be utilizing Siri shortcut to turn on Do Not Disturb (DND) mode at the time of starting a game on your iPhone. Here’s a step-by-step guide to enable this feature.
  • Select the Settings application on the iPhone.
  • Go to Do Not Disturb (DND) menu.
  • Here choose Always in the Silence option.
  • To ensure that you do not permit calls, go to Allow Calls From and opt for No One
  • Now open Siri Shortcuts app on the iPhone and go to the Automation section.
  • There, click on the ‘+’ button in the top right corner and choose Create Personal Automation
  • Now scroll down to the bottom and choose the Open App option.
  • When prompted to select apps for the Siri Shortcut, click on Choose and select the relevant games.
  • Next, click on Add action and search for Do Not Disturb in the upper menu.
  • After that, click on Do Not Disturb and set it to turn-on and then select Next
  • Disable Ask Before Running option and select Done.
That’s it. Now, you have disabled all the calls and notifications on your iPhone at the time of playing games in order that you will not get distracted. While you play the game, the phone will run the automation and switch-on Do Not Disturb mode on the device.

But, there is still no option to automatically disable Do Not Disturb mode once you have finished playing games. Therefore, you will have to manually disable this mode once you stop playing games.
